The decision to organize the MSME-Agro International Summit 2024 stems from a profound recognition of the pivotal role that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play in the agriculture and food processing sectors, coupled with the need for a global platform that catalyzes their growth and innovation. The agro-industry is a cornerstone of economic development, contributing significantly to employment, rural livelihoods, and food security. However, MSMEs within this sector often face unique challenges, ranging from limited access to finance and resources to the need for technological adoption and market integration.

Nestled in the culturally rich landscape of Odisha, the MSME-Agro International Summit 2024 emerges as a pivotal gathering, centered on the dual themes of 'Entrepreneurship Ecosystem for Empowering MSMEs' and 'Industry 2.0 in Agriculture & Food Processing Sector.' Recognizing the critical role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the agro-industry, the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem theme is designed to delve into multifaceted dimensions. Discussions will span the realms of access to finance, with an emphasis on innovative models and investment avenues tailored for the unique challenges of MSMEs. Moreover, the summit will illuminate the transformative potential of skill development programs, addressing the need for tailored training initiatives and capacity-building measures to fortify the capabilities of MSME entrepreneurs.

Simultaneously, the focus on technology adoption will showcase success stories and best practices in integrating cutting-edge technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI), to augment productivity and operational efficiency across the agriculture and food processing value chain. The spotlight will also be on facilitating market linkages, exploring avenues for MSMEs to access domestic and international markets through strategic collaborations and e-commerce opportunities.

Under the theme of Industry 2.0 in Agriculture & Food Processing Sector, the summit will navigate the transformative landscape of technology integration. Smart farming practices will take center stage, unveiling the potential of technologies like IoT in optimizing farming processes, improving yield, and minimizing resource wastage. Supply chain digitization will be explored, delving into the impact of digital technologies in reducing post-harvest losses and ensuring traceability for enhanced quality assurance.

In the realm of food processing, the summit will delve into innovative technologies such as automation, robotics, and sustainable practices to underscore their role in enhancing efficiency and maintaining product quality. Market trends and changing consumer preferences will be at the forefront of discussions, examining how Industry 2.0 can align with evolving demands.

The anticipated outcomes encompass the identification of growth opportunities for MSMEs, the cultivation of collaboration among industry stakeholders, policymakers, financial institutions, and technology providers, and the development of a strategic roadmap for Odisha's positioning as a hub for innovation and investment in the agro-industry. The MSME-Agro International Summit 2024 aspires to be a transformative force, shaping a future where entrepreneurship flourishes, and Industry 2.0 redefines the trajectory of agriculture and food processing on a global scale.
