In 2023, the market size of India's cement industry reached 3.96 billion tonnes, with expectations to expand to 5.99 billion tonnes by 2032, driven by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.7% from 2024-2032. This growth is largely fueled by increased infrastructure investments, residential projects, and government schemes.

Green Cement is gradually taking the center stage to reduce the carbon footprint associated with cement production. The adoption of green cement can lead to significant environmental benefits, including reduced energy use, lower emissions, and increased use of recycled materials, helping the construction industry move toward net-zero goals.

Innovation of distribution channels and logistics solutions is the key to making cement more profitable. Since cement is a low-cost, high-volume commodity, its distribution is a major cost driver for the manufacturers. Overall, the sector is poised for steady growth, with a projected 7-8% increase in demand for FY24-25, despite short-term challenges such as price competition and fluctuating raw material.

Against this background, Indian Chamber of Commerce is organizing the 7th Cementing India on 19th December 2024 at The LaLiT Great Eastern, Kolkata. The summit over the years have become an important initiative and networking platform for the cement and concrete industry.
