The year 2024 is very important, marking the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India. The diplomatic relations between the two countries began in 1949. A year later, Indonesia's first president Soekarno was the first guest to be invited to the India's Republic Day celebration in 1950. India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru attended the 1955's Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung. Indonesia and India, bound by historical, cultural ties and shared values, have long been partners in progress. The two nations, vibrant and diverse, have an abundant opportunity to explore, particularly in the realms of trade, tourism, and investment.

Several investment priority sectors to support economic transformation from primary sector based to value-added based (downstream) in Indonesia are: pharmaceutical, chemical, medical devices, automotive, electronics, semiconductors, IT & Communication, renewable energy, infrastructure, digital economy, and mining industry.

With a total population of 1.7 billion and a combined GDP of 4.2 trillion USD, avenues for collaboration between Indonesia and India are immense. In fact, Indonesia and India, with its a robust and growing economy, offers a fertile ground for business and investment.

In this context, H.E. Ms. Ina H. Krisnamurthi, Ambassador of Indonesia to India, has kindly consented to address and interact with ICC Members on 23rd July 2024, Tuesday from 4.30 pm to 6:00 pm at Burdwan - Coochbehar Hall, The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata. The Session will be followed by Hi Tea.
