Rajat M Nag Co-Author Rajat M. Nag is a Distinguished Fellow at the Emerging Markets Forum, Washington DC. He is currently also a Distinguished Professor at the Emerging Markets Institute at the Beijing Normal University, Beijing and at the Advanced Study Institute Asia, Delhi. He was the Managing Director General of the Asian Development Bank during 2006-2013 and a Distinguished Fellow at the National Council of Applied Economic Research, India during 2014-2022. He currently serves as President, Action for Autism, National Centre for Autism, India, a regional non-profit organization devoted to the cause of persons with autistic spectrum disorders in South Asia, and as a Member of the Governing Council of the Asian Confluence Organization devoted to the cause of enhancing greater regional cooperation in Asia. During 2015-2021, Mr. Nag was also a Board Member of Partnership for Transparency Fund, an international non-governmental organization dedicated to helping civil society play an effective role in the design, and implementation of institutional strengthening programs around the world. His particular interest is in working to enhance regional cooperation and integration in Asia and beyond and bridging the gap between the region’s thriving economies and the millions of poor being left behind and has written and spoken extensively on these subjects. He holds degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, the University of Saskatchewan, and the London School of Economics. Mr. Nag was awarded the Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) by the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in May 2016.

Arghya Sengupta Founder & Research Director of Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, New Delhi Arghya Sengupta was born in Kolkata in 1984. He was educated at St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Kolkata, the National Law School of India University Bengaluru and the University of Oxford. At Oxford, he was a Rhodes Scholar pursuing his D.Phil. in Law at St. Catherine’s College, and Lecturer in Administrative Law at Pembroke College. He is currently the Research Director of the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy which he founded in 2013. At Vidhi, his areas of specialization are constitutional law and regulation of the digital economy. He has written over 20 articles and essays in leading peer-reviewed journals and collections, including in the Law Quarterly Review, Public Law and the Oxford Companion to Politics in India. He has most recently co-edited Working a Democratic Constitution, a special edition of the IIC Quarterly. He is a columnist at The Times of India and The Telegraph. He is the author of three books Independence and Accountability of the Indian Higher Judiciary (Cambridge, 2019), Hamīñ Ast? A Biography of Article 370 (co-authored- Navi Books, 2022) and most recently The Colonial Constitution (Juggernaut, 2023).

Prior to his appointment as Secretary General, Dr. Singh was actively involved with CII for more than 5 years as Regional Director, posted in Chandigarh & Ahmedabad and subsequently in Kolkata. He has done extensive work in the fields of Central & State Policy Advocacy, Service Sector, Agro Business, Taxation and Bio-Technology.
