Creative Economy is an evolving concept which builds on the interplay between human creativity and ideas and intellectual property, knowledge and technology. Essentially it is the knowledge-based economic activities upon which the 'creative industries' are based.

In a time of rapid globalization, many countries recognize that the combination of culture and commerce that the creative industries represent is a powerful way of providing a distinctive image of a country or a city, helping it to stand out and shine.

India's creative economy is now a $30 billion industry and creative exports are up 20% last year, generating over $11 billion.

Against this background, ICC has formed theAll India Initiative on Creative Economy (AIICE).
