The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises- Development Organisation (MSME-DO) is headed by the Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (MSME). The Office of the Development Commissioner (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) assists the Ministry in formulating, co-ordinating, implementing and monitoring different policies and programmes for the promotion and development of MSMEs in the country.
In addition, it provides a comprehensive range of common facilities, technology support services, marketing assistance, etc. through its network of 32 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises -Development Institutes (MSME-Dls); 27 Branch MSME-Dls; 4 MSME Testing Centres (MSME-TCs) and 7 MSME-Testing Stations (MSME-TSs). The Office of DC (MSME) also operates a network of 18 Techonology Centres which are autonomous bodies registered as Societies under the Societies Act.
State Council of Science Technology and Environment (SCSTE) Meghalaya, Govt. Of Meghalaya
The State Council of Science Technology & Environment (SCSTE), Meghalaya, established on January 30, 1995, under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act, 1983, is dedicated to harnessing science and technology for comprehensive state development. Functioning as a registered entity, its core mission involves the identification, formulation, execution, coordination, and follow-up of science and technology programs and schemes in Meghalaya. By aligning with this mandate, the council strives to address diverse aspects of state development through the strategic application of scientific and technological advancements. SCSTE plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective utilization of these tools for the overall progress of Meghalaya.
DPIIT-IPR Chair National Law University and Judicial Academy
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, vide office order dated 16th of October 2018 has endowed the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam with an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Chair, under the Scheme for Pedagogy & Research in IPRs for Holistic Education & Academia (SPRIHA), to benefit the people of the North-East Region of India in protecting their IPRs. The Chair since its inception in 2018 has concertedly focused its efforts towards conservation and dissemination of IP resources of the North-East Region and has been fervently engaged in capacity building of the creators/producers/owners towards safeguarding their IP rights at the grass-root and also viably commercialize their products, in order to strengthen the nation’s overall IP eco-system.
