The India Oil & Gas Summit, initiated by ICC in the year 2012, has succeeded in achieving the recognition of being one of India's most comprehensive and well represented Oil & Gas events. The Summit has attained its present stature through the presence and participation of some of the most important dignitaries and organizations relevant to the sector from India and abroad who have been actively participating and supporting this initiative.
The Government of India has decided to reduce the country's carbon emissions intensity by up to 35% from 2005 levels by 2030 by increasingly meeting energy needs with renewables and natural gas. An answer to redeem this pledge is to increase gas in the energy mix for India from the current 6.5% to close to global level by 2030.
Keeping this in mind, and with the focus on Bengal, the theme of the summit this year is "Transforming Bengal into a Gas Based Economy".
